Hyderabad: Newly elected BJP MP from Mandi in Himachal Pradesh, Kangana Ranaut, claimed that she was slapped by a female CISF officer at Chandigarh airport while en route to Delhi.
The officer Kulwinder Kaur allegedly resorted to the assault because of Kangana’s comments about women who participated in the recent farmers’ protest in Punjab. Following the altercation, the CISF officer was immediately suspended.
Amid this controversy, a photo allegedly showing Kangana Ranaut’s cheek with hand imprints has gone viral. ( Archive 1)
“A strong slap from a farmer’s daughter on the face of Kangana who commented on farmers. This is the hand of a farmer’s daughter, Kangana, (translated from Hindi)” a Facebook commented while sharing the photo.

Fact Check
Newsmeter found that the claim is false as the photos do not show Kangana Ranaut’s face.

To verify the authenticity of the photo, we conducted a reverse image search on Google. The results revealed that the viral photo was originally uploaded on the website Ads of the World. In this image, the face is also visible and it is not Kangana Ranaut.
The description read, “This professional campaign titled Slap Two was published on May 30, 2006. This campaign is related to the pharmaceutical industry and was submitted about 18 years ago.”
A comparison of images revealed that the earring in the original and viral images is the same.

A reverse image search of the images led us to an article titled ‘BELINDA’S STORY | As told by her mother, April 2007,’ published on the blog nospank.
The piece is a heartfelt account of a mother detailing the physical abuse her child Belinda suffered from her ex-husband and the systemic failures she encountered while seeking justice and protection for her daughter. It blends personal experience with a strong call to action against child abuse and the need for better legal protections.
Hence, we conclude that both viral pictures don’t show Kangana Ranaut after she was assaulted by a CISF officer at Chandigarh airport.
