Fact Check

The claim is False.

Few of the posts had a screenshot of Acharya Pramod Krishnam's Wikipedia data. We searched for him on the website. Nowhere in his Wikidata, it has been stated that he is a Muslim or his real name is Gul Shamad Khan

We then visited the official website of the Election Commission of India and it stated his name to be Acharya Pramod Krishnam.

We then performed a keyword search 'Who is Acharya Pramod Krishnam?' after which we were directed to a report by the Business Standard. "Born on January 4, 1965, in a Brahmin family in Bihar, he founded the Shri Kalki Foundation in Sambhal and is also the Peethadhishwar of the Kalki Dham," the report said.

Acharya joined the Congress and contested the Lok Sabha election in 2014 from Sambhal. However, he lost the poll.

We also found a report by Jansatta that had also referred to the leader as Acharya Pramod Krishnam.

It is therefore evident that the viral claim is False. Acharya Pramod Krishnam's name is not Gul Shamad Khan.
