Fact Check

The claim is misleading.

NewsMeter began the investigation by performing a Google Reverse Image Search which led us to a video uploaded on the YouTube channel of Samajwadi Party on November 19, 2021. The viral video clip can be seen from 40:50 seconds.

In this press conference, a media person asked Akhilesh Yadav that Dinesh Sharma has said that China and Pakistan do not want BJP to form a government in UP.

In response, Akhilesh Yadav said, "Who doesn't want to? Who made him this Deputy CM? He should be sent to clean the drains again."

The fact check team then found a video news report aired on the YouTube channel of 'ABP Ganga' on November 20, 2021.

"Akhilesh Yadav's controversial statement on Deputy CM Dinesh Sharma: Those who clean the garbage and drains were made Deputy CM. Dinesh Sharma retaliated to Akhilesh's taunt," reads the description of the video.

The team lastly found a news report by Dainik Jagran. In the report, it is also mentioned that Akhilesh Yadav had passed remarks against Deputy CM Dinesh Sharma.

It is therefore evident that the claim is Misleading. Akhilesh Yadav had given the statement in a press conference. However, he passed remarks against second Deputy Chief Minister Dinesh Sharma, not Keshav Prasad Maurya.
