Claim:The video shows real footage of a Bangladeshi Hindu man asking for help amid internal strife.

Hyderabad: A video claiming to show a Bangladeshi Hindu asking for help is going viral on social media.

In Bangladesh, a Hindu man named Dipu Chandra Das was lynched in Mymensingh on December 18, 2025. In this context, the viral video is circulating on social media. The text on the video reads, “Hindus are being killed every single day”.

In the video, we can see a man walking on a street while talking into the camera in vlog-style. In the background, some buildings appear to be in flames. The man is heard saying in Hindi, “This is Bangladesh. It is nighttime. They will finish us off like Deepu Chadar. You can see for yourself what is happening. Please share this video as much as possible so that someone can save us. I don’t understand how everything suddenly went so wrong.”

Sharing the video on Instagram, a user wrote, “Hindus in Bangladesh are dying every day. Now even the Hindus there are asking, ‘Who will save us?’” (Translated from Hindi) (Archive)

Fact Check

NewsMeter found that the viral claim is false. The video is generated using Artificial Intelligence (AI).

The reverse image searches of the viral video led us to the same footage shared on Instagram on December 24.

Source of the video

The caption in the video reads, “Violence again in Bangladesh today, December 23rd night live vlog... Please support us, otherwise, like Deepu Chandra Das, all Hindus in Bangladesh will be killed”.

We did not find any news reports sharing the visuals from the viral video while referring to the attack on Hindus that took place on December 23.

Analysis of the video

Upon analysing the video closely, we found that the colour of a car door is completely different from the rest of the car. The person speaking in the video does not appear to be blinking throughout the video.

These discrepancies are usual indications that the viral video could have been modified using Artificial Intelligence (AI). An AI detector, Hive Moderation, scored the video 99.6 per cent, determining that the viral video is likely to contain AI-generated content.

Hiya Audio Intelligence Console, an AI audio detector, has determined that the audio contains only a 1 per cent match with live human markers. This means that the audio is generated or modified by AI.

Therefore, it is clear that the viral video is AI-generated. NewsMeter concludes that the viral claim is false.
