Hyderabad: A post claiming that a user needs to click the link on Facebook and verify for security reasons, has gone viral on social media.

The post claimed that if users will not click the link they will automatically be blocked from Facebook.

"Your page has been detected for the activity that goes against Facebook Page Policies regarding copyright infringement. For security reasons, verify your account by clicking the link below: Follow the link below, If you don't confirm, our system will automatically block your Facebook account and you won't be able to use it anymore. Thank you for helping to improve our services. Social Company Facebook Fior De Bior Officiel Best Regards Facebook © 2021 (sic)," reads the post.

Fact Check:

The claim is false.

NewsMeter found different posts have different website addresses. However, clicking the links lead to a website that was tagged suspicious by Google. On clicking the links, it showed: privacy error.


NewsMobile, a FactCheck website, has debunked the claim by reaching out to Facebook. They confirmed to NewsMobile that the link is suspicious and asked not to click on it.

"The link seems to be suspicious activity. Please do not click on the link. We are looking into the notification," Facebook told NewsMobile.

We also found the pages that have not been verified by Facebook.

Hence, it is evident the claim is false. It indicates to be fake and suspicious. It is not related to Facebook. NewsMeter recommends you not to open such suspicious links as they can steal your information.
