Fact Check

NewsMeter found that the claim is false. The images show a car on fire in Ambedkar Nagar, Delhi, on April 3.

Using reverse image search, we found the second image shared on a report published by Agniban on April 3. The title reads, ‘A moving car suddenly burst into flames in Delhi, with a blast.’

The report states that on April 2, a moving car suddenly burst into flames in Ambedkar Nagar of Delhi. The car was reportedly on the Khanpur-Chirag Delhi road when the incident occurred.

Using this information, we found a video of the car in the viral images. The video was shared by NDTV India YouTube on April 3 with the title, ‘Delhi Car Fire: Car turns into a ball of fire in Delhi...what happened to the driver? | News Headquarter.’

The YouTube video also shows the video footage of the car. In the video, we can see the car caught up in flames in the middle of the road. A white car is also seen beside it. A few seconds into the video, a small explosion occurs on top of the car, after which sparks are seen flying.

ETV Bharat also published a report about the incident. The image used in the report matches the viral one. This report was published on April 3.

The images are old. They show a car that caught fire in Ambedkar Nagar on April 3. It is not connected to the Delhi car blast.
