Fact Check: Did Burj Khalifa display Modis image to honour him for helping Indian Muslims during Ramzan?

Hyderabad: A photo of Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Dubai's Burj Khalifa is going viral on social media with the claim that he was honoured during the opening of the Ramzan fast for caring for and helping Indian Muslims during Ramzan.

FACT CHECK

NewsMeter checked for recent reports on Mr. Modi being honoured at the Burj Khalifa but found none. Even the official Twitter account of Burj Khalifa did not mention any such news.

In 2018, Mr. Modi visited the UAE. During his visit, the Burj Khalifa was lit up in the colours of the Indian flag in honour of his visit.

We then performed a reverse image search of the viral image and found the same photo on Shutterstock. A comparison between the viral image and this image revealed that the viral image was edited.

Evidently, the viral photo is fake. Mr. Modi was not honoured in Dubai for caring and helping Indian Muslims during the month of Ramzan.
