Hyderabad: Social media users are claiming that Former Miss Ukraine Anastasiia Lenna has joined the army to fight against Russia.

The claim is False.
NewsMeter began its investigation by performing a keyword search which led us to a post on the Facebook page 'Tamil The Hindu' on March 01, 2022.
The caption said: "I did not join the army: Ex-Miss Ukraine explains."
The news went viral after former Miss Ukraine dressed in army uniform posted her picture on Instagram on February 23, 2022.
On February 28, 2022, she clarified that she has not joined the Ukrainian army. The post was to inspire the Ukrainian people.
Meanwhile, a report by The Indian Express had also stated that the former Miss Ukraine has not joined the army. "Anastasiia Lenna holds an airsoft gun, not an assault rifle," the daily said.
Hence, the claim is False. Former Miss Ukraine did not join the army.
