HYDERABAD: A video of a huge crowd is viral on social media. Social media users claim that the crowd gathered to welcome new Union Civil Aviation Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia in Gwalior, Madhya Pradesh.





FACT CHECK:

The claim is false. This is not a recent video.

NewsMeter performed a keyword search and found that many social media users had shared this video in September 2020 (click here to view) and stated that it happened in Joura, a town in the Morena district of Madhya Pradesh.

Using this information, NewsMeter searched further and found that in September 2020, Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan, Minister of Agriculture & Farmers Welfare Minister Narendra Singh Tomar and Jyotiraditya Scindia had visited Morena to attend a public meeting that was organized to support BJP leader Raghuraj Singh Kansana. Three leaders performed Bhoomipujan and launched few development works. Jyotiraditya Scindia was wearing the same kurta as seen in the viral video.

Furthermore, no news reports were found about Scindia visiting Gwalior after becoming a Union Minister.
