Hyderabad: A Telugu post claiming that Nizamabad Member of Legislative Council Kalvakuntla Kavitha has recently bought a flat in Burj Khalifa is circulating on social media. The post claims that on the occasion of Batukamma, the MLC bought a flat worth Rs. 60 crore in the world's tallest and most expensive building, the Burj Khalifa.
The Burj Khalifa is a skyscraper in Dubai with a total height of 829.8 m and a roof height of 828 m. It is the tallest structure and building in the world since its topping out in 2009.
Social media users are claiming that the apartment was donated by the Kaleshwaram project construction company and that Karimnagar and Nizamabad MLAs attended the housewarming. They are calling the MLA out for allegedly showcasing double standards of making promises to Gulf workers but not keeping them and then buying properties.

The claim is false.
NewsMeter reached out to MLC Kavitha's office and received confirmation that the claim is fake. The office stated that the claim is false and baseless. The statement received reads, "A recent malicious campaign against the Hon'ble MLC owning a flat at Burj Khalifa has been brought to our notice. The stories that have been planted are false and baseless. At a time when other parties should have equally been proud of Telangana, they chose to display their strife."
This false news comes after Kavitha's recent visit to Dubai. Bathukamma was celebrated at Burj Khalifa and the building was lit up in colours depicting the festival. The visual feast was attributed to the efforts of Kavitha "who led Telangana Jagruthi to showcase the states' Bathukamma culture and take the festival celebrations global by featuring its depiction on the worlds' largest screen". Following this, speculations that Kavitha bought a flat in Burj Khalifa started. However, the claim is false.
