HYDERABAD: A screenshot of an alleged article by Jansatta is circulating on social media. Users claim that Bollywood actor Shah Rukh Khan thanked only Muslim fans for their support in his career.
"If I am a superstar today, then the biggest thank you is to our Muslim brothers who, even after being poor, only watched the films of Khans. Our Islam also favors Muslim bonhomie," reads the post.
Jansatta did not publish any such report, the viral image is fake.
The fact-checking team searched online for reports on this issue using the keywords mentioned in the headline but found none.
The team then compared the viral image with an official article by Jansatta and found a few discrepancies in terms of fonts and layout.
Moreover, the article is grammatically incorrect too. The sentence in question is: "आज अगर मैं सुपरस्टार हूँ तो सबसे बड़ा वाला थैंक उन हमारे मुसलमान भाइयों को है जिन्होंने गरीब होने के बाद भी सिर्फ हम खान्स की फिल्में देखी (sic)" (Translated: If I am a superstar today. Big thank you is to our Muslim brothers who, even after being poor, only watched the films of Khans.)
On September 29, Jansatta clarified this issue on Twitter stating that the screenshot is "completely fake."
Evidently, a morphed image falsely claims that Jansatta reported that Shah Rukh Khan thanked only Muslim fans for his success.
