Hyderabad: Social media users are sharing a viral news card that claims that Tamil Nadu BJP president K. Annamalai has sought a ban on biryani. Another news card that is doing the rounds states that Annamalai has said those who eat biryani are not real Hindus.

The claim is false.

NewsMeter searched for reports that would support the viral claim but did not find any. But we did find a tweet by Nirmal Kumar, Tamil Nadu BJP president, IT and social media, who had shared the viral news card and said it was fake.

The second news card has the logo of News 7 Tamil, a media organisation based in Tamil Nadu. News 7 Tamil had, in a tweet, said the viral news card is fake.

Apart from this, Nirmal Kumar, BJP Tamil Nadu state president, IT and social media, had also tweeted that the viral news card and said the news card is fake.

It is evident that the claim made through the viral post is false. The viral news cards claiming that Tamil Nadu BJP leader Annamalai has sought a ban on biryani and said that those who eat biryani are not real Hindus are fake.
