HYDERABAD: Social media users are claiming that UP Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath met an orphan during his recent visit to Kashi and decided to take his full responsibility.
Claim: Yogi saw a child crying in Kashi Yatra yesterday. He went to the child and asked the reason. The child said my parents died. I was living with mama, yesterday she also died. Yogi said: ā²ā²Son, from today I am your uncle ā²ā²
He ordered DM to take care of his food and education till he grows up and gets a job.

The claim is false.
The viral image was taken in 2019 when Yogi celebrated Diwali in the Tinkonia village (Gorakhpur, Uttar Pradesh) with the Vantangia community. According to 2019 news report by Live Hindustan and Punjab Kesari, Yogi celebrated Diwali among the Vantangia families and distributed sweets to children in Gram Panchayat Tinkonia.
He also inaugurated projects and laid foundation stones for schemes worth Rs 1.32 crore for the forest-dwelling community. The same was also reported by India Today and Dainik Jagran.
The report by India Today reads: "Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath inaugurated projects and laid foundation stones for schemes worth Rs 1.32 crore for the forest-dwelling Vantangiya community in Gorakhpur. The Chief Minister celebrated Diwali on Sunday evening with the Vantangiya community that has remained marginalized for years".
Vantangiya is a special tribal community. Yogi has been celebrating Diwali with the people of this community for several years now. Yogi was elected MP from Gorakhpur in 1998. He took care of the Vantangia community and continuously raised their issues in the parliament.
The viral image is from 2019 and was taken during Yogi's Diwali celebrations with the Vantangia community. Thus, the claim of Yogi taking full responsibility for the boy's education is false.
