Fact Check:
NewsMeter found the claim to be false.
On searching for the details using relevant keywords, a video with similar visuals was found published on a YouTube channel. It was titled: "The real video in which Om Puri talks about Islam and his beliefs".
At 2:23 minute, when the journalist asked about the image of Muslims in India and other western countries, Om Puri said: "A false impression was created about Muslims in India that they are extremists and that they think there should be no other religion except Islam and that the whole world should accept it". He later said that this impression created about Muslims is not true.
When we searched for further details, we found out that Om Puri had made these comments during an interview with Pakistani channel 'Dunya News' on 27 March 2014. The full interview video uploaded on the Dunya News channel can be seen here.
We could see the same conversation from 13:48 minutes. A portion of this full conversation was edited and shared with a false narrative in the post. Om Puri in the interview proclaimed himself as a Hindu who respects every other religion.
