Hyderabad: A video of an alleged emergency evacuation from a plane has gone viral. Those sharing the video claim it shows Israeli passengers evacuating a plane after Iran attacked an Israeli airport.

The video surfaced after a joint US–Israel attack reportedly killed Iran’s Supreme Leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, on February 28. In retaliation, Iran has launched missile and drone attacks on Israel. Iran has also targeted the US Fifth Fleet in Bahrain, along with other US bases in the Gulf region, reported the BBC.

In the viral video, people can be seen making emergency exits, while smoke and fire are visible at the back of the plane.

One user shared the video on X and wrote, “Evacuation of Israeli passengers after an Iranian missile strike targeted an Israeli airport today.” (Archive)

NewsMeter found that the claim was false. The viral video actually shows passengers evacuating an American plane at Denver International Airport after a technical problem. It is unrelated to the ongoing Iran–US conflict.

We conducted a reverse image search on the keyframes of the video using Google Lens and found that the video is from 2025.

What did the media report?

According to a report by NBC News dated July 28, 2025, passengers evacuated through emergency exits at Denver International Airport in the United States after the landing gear of an American jet caught fire during an aborted take-off.

One of the 173 passengers was hospitalised with minor injuries while exiting the Boeing 737 MAX 8, which was scheduled to fly to Miami International Airport.
