Hyderabad: A video of a massive crowd trying to board a train has gone viral on social media with the claim that the video was captured during the pandemic and that it showed how irresponsible people are about social distancing norms.
The claim that this video is taken after the pandemic started is false.
NewsMeter performed a reverse image search and found a YouTube video posted in September 2018 captioned, "Krishnanagar Bongaon Local Train-Ranaghat Station."
We also found the same video on Facebook that was also posted in September 2018.
Also, a report was found that debunked this video earlier when it was used falsely as proof that migrants from UP and Bihar are leaving Gujaratduring unrest in the state.
This video was taken from a station in West Bengal in 2018 and, according to the report, the crowd consists of students gathered at the station to attend an examination for constable posting. Hence, it is clear that the video was from 2018 and is not recent.
