NewsMeter began its investigation by performing a Google Reverse Image Search which led us to a post uploaded on a Facebook page named 'Hindu Maha Ganapathi, Chitradurga on October 02, 2021.

The caption of the post read, "Chitradurga's Hindu Maha Ganapathi – 2021 immersion Yatra. Hindus are saffron everywhere."
