Fact Check: Image of Muslim boy with morphed text on placard goes viral
An image of a Muslim boy carrying a placard is widely being shared on social media which reads, "My father has four wives, 25 children and there is a lot of recession under Modi’s rule. We are dying of hunger, Modi is responsible for it."

Hyderabad: An image of a Muslim boy carrying a placard is widely being shared on social media which reads, "My father has four wives, 25 children and there is a lot of recession under Modi's rule. We are dying of hunger, Modi is responsible for it."

Fact Check
The placard in the viral image is a hoax.
NewsMeter performed a Google reverse image search which led us to a post uploaded on a Facebook page AIMIM Bokaro Jharkhand on 8 January in 2020.
NewsMeter then performed a keyword search which led us to another Facebook page of AIMIM leader Akhtarul Imam where on 2 February 2020. The leader had uploaded a post where a Muslim girl was seen holding a placard with a similar writeup.
We then compared both the images of the boys which shows the differences in the text.
It is therefore evident that the image is a hoax as the text in the placard is morphed.
