Fact Check: Image of PM Modi with Madame Tussauds team shared with misleading claim

Hyderabad: An image of Prime Minister Narendra Modi is widely being shared on social media.
In the picture, a makeup artist can be seen taking measurements of the Prime Minister's face.
Users claim that Prime Minister Narendra Modi takes the help of a make-up artist.
"The country whose male prime minister is fond of dressing up in a beauty parlor like a new bride is sure to be ruined," read the caption of the viral image.
The image is widely shared by many other users on Facebook.
Fact Check
The claim is misleading.
NewsMeter began its investigation by performing a Google Reverse Image Search which led us to a report published by The New Indian Express. The report dates back to March 16, 2016, and it was headlined 'PM Narendra Modi gets measured for Madame Tussauds wax museum'.
The report had several images including the viral picture.
On further investigation, we found a video with a few similar visuals uploaded on the YouTube channel of Madame Tussauds London on March 16, 2016. In the video, the team of Madame Tussauds can be clearly seen taking PM Modi's measurements. After watching the video carefully, it was found that the woman standing next to Modi is not doing his make-up, but is looking for matching eyes of PM Modi in his box. We also noticed that the box in the woman's hand has a collection of fake eyes. This woman is matching PM Modi's eyes by taking out a fake eye from this collection box.
"The statue, featuring Mr. Modi in a traditional Indian greeting with folded hands, will go on display in London, Singapore, Hong Kong, and Bangkok. The prime minister was involved in the creation of his wax likeness and gave artists a sitting at his home in Delhi," BBC News reported on March 16, 2016.
Hindustan Times had also aired a video news report on PM Modi giving his measurements to the team, for his wax statue at Madame Tussauds, London.
It is therefore evident that the viral claim is misleading.
The woman in the image is a team member of Madame Tussauds taking measurements of PM Modi for his wax statue.
