Fact Check: Image of Tej Pratap Yadav dressed as Krishna keeping goat is morphed

Hyderabad: A picture of Bihar politician Tej Pratap Yadav dressed as Lord Krishna is viral on social media. However, in that image, a goat can also be seen.

Netizens are sharing this image and ridiculing Yadav by saying that the "ninth-grade failure" doesn't know that Shri Krishna used to keep cows, not goats.

Aditya Sharma, student leader of Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad wrote: "Somebody tell this Navvi Fail Duggal Bhaiya that Shri Krishna used to keep cows, not goats."

FACT CHECK:

The image is morphed.

NewsMeter performed a reverse image search and found the original image of Tej Pratap Yadav dressed as Krishna. The image was posted by him on Instagram in December 2019 with the caption: "Krishna is a cosmic musician, and the tune he creates by playing his transcendental flute is embodied with cosmic energy."

However, there is no goat visible in the Instagram image. A video of Tej Pratap was posted by 'News Nation' in December 2019 that discussed his pictures and videos. Goat was not seen in the images.

Furthermore, a reverse image search of the goat in the viral image led to many websites that carried the goat image as a representative picture. It was used by JD Mart and PNG Joy. The image is "a completely free picture material coming from the public internet" and can be shared or used by anyone on the internet.

Evidently, it is clear that the viral image is morphed.
