FACT CHECK: Is Heinz Mayoreo real or fake?

Hyderabad: Several Twitter users are sharing an image of a Heinz bottle with the label "Mayoreo Sauce".

The image seems to show that Heinz has released a new condiment called 'Mayoreo' which is made out of mayonnaise and Oreo cookies. While few netizens believe this sauce is real, few are skeptical about the image.

FACT CHECK:

The image is a product of graphic design. It is fake.

Firstly, NewsMeter searched on the official products page of Heinz's website and found that such a product does not exist.


Secondly, NewsMeter noticed the "Heinz" logo. Plus the words "Doctor Photograph" are visible. Upon searching online, the same image was found on the Instagram account of a digital creator called 'DoctorPhotograph'. It was posted on June 23. This account's creator specializes in fake product designs.

A spokesperson for Kraft Heinz told Snopes that "We do not produce Mayoreo". The same was also confirmed by Jenna Thornton, director for brand public relations and media in the U.S. at the Kraft Heinz Company to Lead Stories, "This is a photoshopped image. We do not produce Mayoreo".

Evidently, it is clear that Heinz has not released any such condiment. The image is a product of digital design.
