Hyderabad: 'Shershaah', a biopic of Kargil hero - the late Captain Vikram Batra, is being praised both by critics and audience. Captain Batra and his girlfriend Dimple Cheema's story seems to have touched many hearts. Following this, photos of the two are being widely shared on social media.
In addition to the several Instagram posts, entertainment and news agencies like Postoast have written articles about the war hero and Cheema.
Fact Check:
This is NOT Dimple Cheema in the photos.
Although many posts have claimed that one of the women in the group photo is Dimple Cheema, the fact is that it is not her. This was clarified by Captain Vikram Batra's twin brother Vishal Batra who said there is widespread misinformation in this regard and that those women aren't Dimple Cheema.

Vishal also said that the media, in many instances, has reported that the two were engaged. He said that was not true and added that while their families had plans to get the two married but before that could happen, Captain Batra had died a heroic death in the Kargil war.

He further said the woman in the photos is not Dimple but actor Siddharth Malhotra's classmates (he portrayed the late captain onscreen). Vishal said, "I must clarify here that the picture of Dimple too that has been floating in the media, where it is claimed in a group picture that she's standing beside my brother- is not the correct one. That girl is Sidharth's classmate and not Dimple."
From the above reports, it is clear that the photos doing the rounds of social media is not of Dimple Cheema. Hence, these claims are FALSE.
