Hyderabad: Social media users are claiming that 'Jai Bhim' has become the first movie to be featured on the Oscars official YouTube channel.

Fact Check:

The claim is misleading.

NewsMeter checked the official YouTube channel of Oscars and found that Satyajit Ray's 'Two' was featured on 3 May 2016. As a part of a restoration project, 'Two' also known as 'Parable of Two' was preserved at the Academy Film Archive along with 18 of Ray's films after the renowned Indian filmmaker was awarded an Honorary Academy Award in 1992.

'Two' is a 1964 short film and is part of a trilogy.

However, Suriya's courtroom drama 'Jai Bhim' is the first Tamil movie to be featured in the official YouTube channel of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences under its 'Scene At The Academy' category.

As per the Oscars' official website, 'Scene at the Academy' is a segment that focuses on filmmaking and the breakdown of important scenes in a movie.
