Hyderabad: Hyderabad: Ahead of the Jubilee Hills by-election and in the backdrop of the Telangana state-wide bandh on October 18, a video featuring Congress candidate Naveen Yadav and former Minister and BRS leader V. Srinivas Goud is going viral on social media.
The bandh, called by the Backward Classes Joint Action Committee (BC JAC), is in protest against the High Court’s stay on 42% reservation for BCs in local body elections. The by-election for the Jubilee Hills Assembly constituency is scheduled for November 11.
The by-poll was necessitated following the death of sitting BRS MLA Maganti Gopinath in June this year. The BRS has fielded his widow, Maganti Sunitha, who filed her nomination on October 16.
The viral video shows Srinivas Goud felicitating Naveen Yadav with a shawl. Sharing the clip on X, a user wrote, “BC leaders from BRS are saying, ‘We will make our BC brother win.’ Brother Naveen’s victory will be a turning point for the development of Jubilee Hills.” (Archive)
