Hyderabad: Prime Minister Narendra Modi visited Kerala on April 4, where he held a roadshow in Thiruvananthapuram as part of the campaign for the upcoming State Assembly elections.
Following his visit, an image is circulating on social media claiming to show PM Modi filming with a crew in Kerala. It is alleged that he brought a filming team to record his activities during the visit.
The viral image shows PM Modi wearing a green lungi and holding a stick, standing in a coconut garden with a crew using cameras and microphones to shoot him.
Several users shared the image on Facebook and X. One user on Facebook wrote, “The real fun is with this great man. The clothing minister is getting a reel made.” (Translated from Hindi) (Archive)
Fact Check
NewsMeter found that the claim is false. The image is AI-generated and passed off as PM Modi’s photoshoot in Kerala.
Visual analysis
The image showed several inconsistencies that suggest it could be AI-generated. PM Modi’s hand holding the pole appears distorted, and the pole unrealistically interacts with the body. Objects like coconuts and the microphone lack proper support.
Facial features of people in the background look smudged and lack definition. The lighting and shadows are inconsistent and do not match the positions of the subjects and objects in the image.
What did the AI detection tools find?
AI content detection tool Hive Moderation found that the video is 99.9 per cent likely to be AI-generated.
Sight Engine determined that the video is 98 per cent likely to be AI-generated. The tool also noted that it is 86 per cent likely that the image has been created using Imagen/Nano Banana AI models.
We could not find any news reports of PM Modi doing a photoshoot in Kerala. PIB Fact Check posted a clarification on X stating that the viral image is AI-generated
