Hyderabad: A video of a six-year-old girl is viral on social media. Users identified her as Jaspreet Sandhu. They claimed that she performed 53 somersaults in just 80 seconds.


The post was also shared on Facebook page 'Jaspreet Sandhu' on June 2, 2021

Fact Check

The claim is False.

NewsMeter performed a Keyword Search which directed us to a tweet by South China morning post on August 25, 2020.

The caption of the tweet read: "Little girl + grit = 80 somersaults in 1 minute."

We found another tweet by Daily Star on May 5, 2021. According to the tweet, Chinese girl Li Jiamin from Xinzhou can perform as many as 100 somersaults non-stop.

We also found a video uploaded on a YouTube channel by Ruptly on April 30, 2021.

The description of the video stated talented girl from Xinzhou Li Jiamin can perform as many as 100 somersaults at the age of 6 year old.


It is therefore evident that the viral claim is False. The girl is not Jaspreet Sandhu but Li Jiamin from China.
