Hyderabad: A post claiming former Union Minister Maneka Gandhi and MP Varun Gandhi is leaving the Bharatiya Janata Party and joining the Congress is viral on social media.

The claim is False.
NewsMeter tried to search for reports related to the viral claim but find none.
Since the post is about the news of Varun Gandhi and Maneka Gandhi, we decided to do more research on it. We re-checked the video shared with the post. The caption of this 30-second video shared on July 11, 2021 reads: "Varun with Maneka joined Congress and welcomed Congress".
We watched this video completely and there is no talk of Varun Gandhi or Maneka Gandhi leaving BJP and joining Congress. It has been said that some people want Varun Gandhi to join Congress.
We then searched for any such information on their social media and found a tweet by Varun Gandhi on June 12, 2021. In this tweet, he has denied joining Congress.
"This is a malicious piece of fake news. I will be sending you, and any others that repeat this nonsense, a legal notice. I will see you in court if you don't remove this post, from across media platforms, immediately," he tweeted.
We then visited the Twitter account of Maneka Gandhi. We did not find any such information. The cover picture on Maneka Gandhi's Twitter account is with that of the prime minister.
It is therefore evident that the claim is false. Maneka Gandhi and Varun Gandhi are not leaving BJP to join Congress.
