Fact check: Miscreants replace Arvind Kumar with Amit Shah in Owaisi picture
An image that purportedly shows Minister of Home Affairs Amit Shah along with AIMIM president Asaduddin Owaisi is viral on social media.

HYDERABAD: An image that purportedly shows Minister of Home Affairs Amit Shah along with AIMIM president Asaduddin Owaisi is viral on social media. However, NewsMeter found that the image is morphed as the original image shows Principal Secretary of MA&UD Arvind Kumar in place of Shah.

FACT CHECK:
We performed a reverse image search and found a 2018 video by BT NEWS that reports on Owaisi meeting Arvind Kumar. In this video, Owaisi is wearing the same clothes that can be seen in the viral image. Apart from this, the man in the viral image wearing a blue striped shirt can also be seen in this video. When Owaisi walks into the office the nameplate reads" Arvind Kumar I.A.S" and he shakes the hands with Kumar and the 2018 GHMC commissioner.
Apart from this, the thumbnail of this video shows the same setting that of the viral image. Notice that the sofa color and the plants in both images are the same. This proves that the viral image has been morphed and that the original image was taken during this meeting.
Furthermore, many Twitter users shared another picture of Amit Shah. Notice that the sofa color and hand gestures match the viral image.
Two different images were edited and put together. Hence, it is clear that the viral image is fake and has been passed on with a false narrative.
