A video telecasted by V6 Telugu claiming that Telangana Election Commission has appointed a 17-year-old boy as polling officer for elections is viral on the internet. (archive)

Fact check:

The claim that a 17-year-old student was appointed as a Polling officer in GHMC elections is FALSE.

Election Commission released a statement that the boy has been appointed to conduct webcasting. Only students with computer knowledge were recruited for webcasting and it had nothing to do with age.

However, the boy was sitting with other polling staff only to have lunch, but is not associated with the election duties.
