Hyderabad: A picture of France celebrating its win against Croatia in the Russia 2018 FIFA WORLD CUP is being shared online. Users claim that Paris is protesting against the government over Covid-19 restrictions.
Many users are sharing this image with the caption: "Somebody posted this REVOLUTION IMAGE Last Night! FB DELETED IT. Here is AGAIN! FRANCE is STANDING UP!! NO MORE BANKSTERS CONTROL! No More Fake Covid Controls... NO MORE Money / Financial Controls (sic)."

The claim Paris is protesting against the Covid 18 guidelines is false. This image is from 2018.
We performed a reverse image search and found a similar image on CNN from July 2018. It states the image is linked to the celebration of winning the 2018 FIFA World Cup by France.
We also found the image on Getty, dated 15 July 2018. The caption reads: "This picture taken from the top of the Arch of Triumph (Arc de Triomphe) on July 15, 2018, shows people lighting flares as they celebrate after France won the Russia 2018 World Cup final football match against Croatia, on the Champs-Elysees avenue in Paris".
It was attributed to photographer Ludovic Marin of news agency AFP.
The same image was also found on the UK news site `METRO' with the same news of French celebration.
Evidently, the claim of Paris protesting against Covid 19 guidelines is false. The image is from 2018 and from another event.
