Fact Check:
The claim that the video shows Defense minister Rajnath Singh talking in support of the ongoing farmers' agitation and against the Central government is MISLEADING.
In the video, Mr. Singh can be seen telling the farmers to stay united and reminding them that he is also the son of a farmer. He praises Mahendra Singh Tikait, a farmer leader from Uttar Pradesh and former president of Bharatiya Kisan Union.
NewsMeter searched using the keywords "Rajnath Singh speech on Mahendra Takait" and found the same video on several YouTube channels. The video was first published by the BJP's YoutTube channel on 6 October 2015.
The video is titled "Shri Rajnath Singh speech on the occasion of Mahendra Singh Tikait Birth Anniversary: 06.10.2015".
The video was later shared by other channels like Jat News in 2020 and BCR news in 2021.
The video showing Rajnath Singh speaking about farmers is a clip from a longer video published in 2015. Hence, the claim that he spoke in support of the protesting farmers is FALSE as their agitation started only in 2020.
