Fact Check: Old image of Sikhs offering free food in Canada shared as langar in Ukraine

it is being claimed Sikhs are running free langar in Ukraine.
"Sikh Community Initiative in Ukraine `Guru Ka Langar'," reads the English translation of the message.
Fact Check
The claim is False.
NewsMeter began its investigation by performing a Google Reverse Image Search.
The search led us to a Facebook post uploaded on a page 'We The Sikhs' on August 06, 2018. The post had a similar image.
"Canada's first Free Food Truck – Guru Nanak Dev Ji's LANGAR – Goodbye Hunger. Everybody is welcome here regardless of Faith, Gender, Age, Caste, or Status," the post said.
The image was also shared by 'We The Sikhs' on their Twitter handle on August 06, 2018.
We, however, found a post by an Instagram handle 'Sikhsewasociety' that had posted an image along with the food truck on October 16, 2016. "Opening ceremony of the Food Truck," said the caption.
The same page had also shared a post on February 27, 2022. The post had included an image similar to the viral image.
"It has recently been brought to the board's attention that a picture of Sikh Sewa Society's mobile kitchen has been posted on social media. These social media posts falsely indicate that we are providing langar in Ukraine during a period of crisis. We would like to ask everyone not to spread misinformation during this time of crisis. The board would like to clarify that our operations service vulnerable communities in the GTA and the organization currently does not have any active operations outside of Canada. The team of volunteers at Sikh Sewa Society empathize with the Ukrainian people during this time of crisis and ask that people support organizations that are currently active in providing support to innocent civilians during this trying time," the description said.
Hence, it is evident that the claim is False. The viral image is not of Sikh volunteers providing langar in Ukraine.
