A video of Rakhi Sawant wearing a Hijab is widely being shared on social media.

Hyderabad: A video of Rakhi Sawant wearing a Hijab is widely being shared on social media.
"Rakhi Sawant arrives in Hijab at the gym," reads the caption.
The video was shared on the Facebook page of 'AIMIM Amberpet Constituency', which had over 328 k likes, 3.9 million views, and 42k shares.
The post is being shared to create an impression that the actress wore the Hijab in support of the protesting students in Karnataka.

The claim is False.
NewsMeter began its investigation by performing a keyword search which led us to a report published by the Times of India on August 31, 2021. The report was titled, "Rakhi Sawant arrives in Hijab at the gym, comments on Sunny Leone's entry into Bigg Boss OTT."
The video of the actress wearing a Hijab and going to the gym was also shared on the Facebook page of 'Filmydrama' on August 30, 2021. The caption of the post read, "Rakhi Sawant Ne Pahna Hijab... Rakhi Arriving In Weirdest Workout Outfit!... Sunny Leone Ke Bigg Boss OTT ke ghar me jane par boli ye bat (This is what she spoke about Sunny Leone going to the house of Bigg Boss OTT)."
We also found the video tweeted by an entertainment outlet, Koimoi on August 31, 2021.
In the video, Rakhi can be heard saying she wore a Hijab on top of her gym wear. She can be heard talking to the camera persons. Nowhere can she be heard talking about the Hijab controversy.
Hence, the claim is False. The viral video is of 2021. It is falsely being linked to the recent Hijab controversy.
