Hyderabad: A video of a flood is widely being shared on social media.

Users claimed that the video is from Maharastra's Amravati district where 5 people died after water gushed out during well digging.

The text of the viral post written in Tamil can be translated: "Five workers were killed when water suddenly came out while digging a well in Amravati district of Maharashtra. It is being claimed that it is a miracle. Water gushes out so fast that no one can stand near it."

Fact Check

The claim is False.

NewsMeter began its investigation by searching whether any such incident took place in Amravati. However, we did not find any recent reports.

We then performed a Google Reverse Image Search. The search led us to a video uploaded on the YouTube channel 'PLL News'. The video was uploaded on October 26, 2018.

"While digging a well in village Rampur of Guna district of Madhya Pradesh, suddenly the water came out at a fast pace," reads the thumbnail of the video.

We then found a similar video uploaded on another YouTube channel 'Gramanchal News' on October 14, 2018.

"While digging a well in village Jhar of Ratlam district of Madhya Pradesh, suddenly water came out at such a fast speed that seven laborers working died instantly. Water is coming out at such a fast pace that no one can stand nearby. It is possible. It's a miracle of nature," reads the description of the video.

Hence, it is therefore evident that the claim is False. The viral video is a four-year-old incident that took in Madhya Pradesh.
