Claim: Priyanka Gandhi participated in Maha Kumbh 2025 and took a holy dip at the Sangam.
Fact: The claim is false. The image of Priyanka Gandhi taking a holy dip at the Sangam in Prayagraj is from 2021.
Hyderabad: Lakhs of devotees, including foreigners, are arriving in Prayagraj for Maha Kumbh. Several politicians and VIPs have also visited the holy site to take a dip at the Sangam.
Amid this, a video of Priyanka Gandhi Vadra taking a holy dip at the Sangam is circulating on social media, alongside a clip of Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge criticizing BJP leaders for their participation in the ritual. In the video, Kharge can be heard questioning whether such actions help in addressing poverty or improving the lives of children.
The Instagram post, originally in Kannada, translates to:
"Priyanka Gandhi takes a holy dip at Maha Kumbh. Congress President, even the pillars of your party are not listening to you."
Some people are also sharing the video with similar claims.

Using reverse image search, we traced the viral video to multiple news reports from 2021. These reports featured images of Priyanka Gandhi wearing the same attire as seen in the viral posts.
On February 11, 2021, Hindustan Times published a report titled, "Priyanka Gandhi takes a holy dip in Sangam, pays tribute to Jawaharlal Nehru."
The report stated that Priyanka Gandhi took a holy dip at the Sangamāa confluence of the Ganga, Yamuna, and the mythical Saraswati riversāon February 11, 2021.
According to an India Today report published on the same day, she took the dip at Sangam on the occasion of Mauni Amavasya.
The Hindustan Times YouTube channel shared a video of Priyanka Gandhi participating in the ritual on February 11, 2021. The footage shows her taking a holy dip at the Sangam.
Priyanka Gandhi did not attend the Maha Kumbh in 2025. The viral images being shared are from 2021.
