Fact check: Purported last audio message of late TRS leader Nomula Narasimhaiah is fake

Senior Telangana Rashtra Samithi lawmaker and former CPI party leader Nomula Narasimhaiah died of a heart attack after suffering from post-Covid-19 complications at Apollo Hospital in Hyderabad.

On December 1, 2020, while undergoing treatment in the hospital, Nomula Narsimhaiah breathed his last at about 5.30 am.

Narasimhaiah, who represented Nagarjunasagar assembly constituency in Telangana's Nalgonda district, suffered from Covid-19 and was in the hospital for over a month. Though he tested negative for the virus later, he was still suffering from breathing problems.

After his death, audio claiming Nomula Narasimhaiah's purported last message started circulating on various social media platforms like Facebook, YouTube, and WhatsApp.

When translated from Telugu, the audio states that he addressed his friends and communist leaders. He seems to have appealed to his family to send him off as a CPI leader. He also states that he should be clad in a red-colored flag which represents CPI.

This audio was uploaded on the ABN Andhrajyothi website too.
