Fact Check: Rake carrying 90 containers is not missing, clarifies Central Railway

Hyderabad: A news report claiming that a rake carrying 90 containers from Nagpur to Mumbai has gone missing is being widely circulated on social media.

The media organisation, The Hitvada, published a media report titled, “Rake carrying 90 containers from Nagpur to Mumbai goes missing” on 14 February 2023.

NewsMeter found the claim to be false as Central Railway has clearly refuted the reports on the missing rake.

Taking it to Twitter, the Central Railway has tweeted a fact check on the misinformation trail. The tweets read, “The news in circulation about the missing of rake carrying containers from Nagpur to Mumbai is actually incorrect. A clarification has been issued with the correct information.”

The same has been communicated with the Editors of The Hitvada as well, as per the tweet.
