Fact check: Sonu Sood did not gift Rs 3-crore Mercedes car to his son

Sonu Sood is one most loved by the public. This news would have made headlines by the mainstream media.

While doing the research, we found that the rumor had actually gone viral through a video which claimed that the actor had gifted this luxury car to his son.

According to these viral videos, the actor is seen taking the car's delivery and then taking it out for a spin with his kids.

NewsMeter performed a keyword search and found that Sonu Sood had reacted to the rumor. It was published by many mainstream media outlets including News18, DNA India, Bollywood Hungama, and JagranTV.

According to these reports, the actor had denied buying the luxury car for his son.

"There is no truth to this. I haven't bought a car for my son. The car was brought to our home for a trial. We went on a test run. But that's it. We didn't buy the car," he said

According to a report by Cartoq, some online publications even mentioned it as a gift that Sonu Sood gave to his son on Father's Day. The actor has no idea where the Father's Day angle came from. He said, "Why would I give my son a car on Father's Day? Shouldn't he be giving me something? After all, it's my day!"

The viral posts and videos had also claimed that the cost of the car is Rs 3 crore.

However, when we searched for the actual amount of the car, we found a report by the Auto car which stated that the Mercedes-Maybach GLS 600 4Matic has been launched in India at a base price of Rs 2.43 crore.

Evidently, the claim made is False. Actor has neither bought the car nor gifted it to his son.
