The team further found a report published by Zee News Hindi on January 10, 2022.
"Bollywood actor Sonu Sood's sister Malvika Sood has joined the Congress party. He joined the party on Monday in the presence of Punjab Congress Chief Navjot Singh Sidhu and Chief Minister Charanjit Singh Channi. On this occasion, Sidhu said that Sonu Sood did a unique work for humanity during the Corona period and now a member of his family is joining us," reads the report.
On further investigation, the team found a tweet by the official Twitter handle of Punjab Congress on January 10, 2022.

There are no reports published by the mainstream media that stated the actor joining the part.
The team contacted a close associate of Sonu Sood, who had refuted the claim that the actor had joined the Congress party. He further said it is false news and all the social media users are requested not to share such posts. It is not the actor who had joined the party but his sister.
It is therefore evident that the claim is False. Sonu Sood did not join the Congress party.
