Hyderabad: Amidst the Karnataka hijab row, Twitter users are sharing a photo of a woman meeting Rahul Gandhi. They are claiming she is Muskan Khan, the woman who confronted a crowd of men waving saffron shawls. As they heckled her with chants of "Jai Shri Ram" she chanted back "Allah hu Akbar".
Fact Check:
NewsMeter performed a reverse image search and found that the woman in the viral picture is Amba Prasad, a Congress MLA from Hazaribagh district in Jharkhand.
Amba Prasad posted the same photo on her Facebook and Instagram accounts. The photo was taken on 8 February 2022 when she met Rahul Gandhi along with other Congress MLAs from Jharkhand.
She has also clarified that she is the woman in the viral photo. She reached out to the Jharkhand police via Twitter and asked them to investigate the false claims.
This proves that the woman meeting Rahul Gandhi is Amba Prasad, an MLA from Jharkhand MLA. It is being falsely claimed that the woman in the photo is Muskan Khan.
