Fact Check

The claim is false.

NewsMeter performed a Google reverse image search that led us to a similar video uploaded on the YouTube channel 'Compared Comparison' on 1 January 2021. According to the description of the video, the visuals are from a video game called 'Arma 3'. We can find a clearer version of the viral video at the 0:14 second mark.

On 14 October 2020, The Quint had reported that the same video was being linked to the Azerbaijan-Armenia conflict. "A video of a plane being shot down by an on-ground 'weapons system' is being shared as Armenian defence shooting down an Azerbaijani MiG-25 in the disputed Nagorno-Karabakh region," it had said. The video is an old simulation of a fighter jet in action in the video game ARMA 3, it had added.

We compared the viral video to the original video and found that both were similar.

Hence, the claim made through the viral post is false. The viral video is a clip from the video game Arma 3.
