Fact Check

The claim is False.

NewsMeter firstly performed a Google Reverse Image Search, which led us to a report by Hari Bhoomi published on February 10, 2018. According to the report, sensation spread after a minor was beaten up in the name of exorcism.

Seeing the public anger, the police arrested the accused from village Chhupi/Nagri. According to the information, a video went viral on social media on Friday evening. In the video, a pastor is seen brutally thrashing a minor girl in the name of exorcism. The pastor is also showing cruelty when he trampled the girl's stomach and her private parts with his feet. As soon as the video went viral, a sensation spread in the area.

We then found a report by Dainik Divya Marathi published in 2018. The report stated that a video of a young woman being treated for exorcism has surfaced. In this video, the man is doing an offensive act by beating a minor girl and putting his foot on her private part. At the same time, the entire family of the girl is seen laughing at the incident. Dhamtari and Raipur police have launched an investigation after the video went viral.

Since the claim also mentioned DPS School Rajbagh, Valsad, NewsMeter performed a keyword search which led us to a website of DPS School Rajbagh, Kathua in Jammu.

We then performed another keyword search for DPS School Rajbagh, Valsad which directly led us to RM VM School in Valsad, Gujarat.

We did not find reports of any such incident taking place in any of the schools.

It is therefore evident that the claim is False. The video is not old. The man in the viral video is not a teacher but a pastor Dinesh Sahu.
