Fact Check: Video of milk being adulterated not from India

Hyderabad: A video of two people loading a truck with milk containers is viral on social media. The men in the video can be seen adulterating the milk and dipping their hands in the containers. The video is circulating with the claim that this incident took place in India.

Fact Check:

The claim is false.

NewsMeter found the same video on Twitter from 2016, however, with claims that this video is from Pakistan. A Pakistani news organization had covered this incident on Facebook. A part of the caption in Urdu after translation reads, "There is not a single thing in Pakistan that is not mixed. Now the process of mixing has started in fruits as well. He is mixing water in milk and mixing it in public".

In the video the words, "SIWA CARGO LOADER" can be seen written on the tempo. It should be noted that SIWA CARGO LOADER is a Pakistani company that manufactures tempos and auto-rickshaws.

Evidently, the claim of this incident taking place in India is false.
