Hyderabad: A video of people pelting stones is viral on social media. Users claim that this incident occurred in Jaipur. People in the video can be heard chanting 'Allah Hu Akbar'.

A Facebook user posted the video with a caption:

राजस्थान कश्मीर कब बना मालूम ही नही चला।

कल जयपुर में हुआ है, आप इसके चपेट में कब आने वाले है,खुद ही तय कर लो ।

"We did not even realize that Rajasthan has become Kashmir. This is what happened in Jaipur yesterday. Now it's for you to decide when you will be hit by it (sic)," reads the English translation of the message.

Fact Check:

The claim is false.

NewsMeter noticed shops in the video. At one minute and 17 seconds, hoardings of two shops can be seen which read 'Western Hosiery' and 'Sathoo Furnishing'. With the help of keyword search, our fact check team found a Facebook page of Western Hosiery shop.

We found the location of the shop through their page. These two shops are located in Lal Chowk locality of Anantnag in Jammu and Kashmir. We compared the two photos. The similarities can be seen below.

Secondly, at the beginning of the video, exactly at 25 seconds, the hoarding of another shop is half seen with the word 'Vasco' written on it. We found that this is from a footwear shop 'Vasco Pasco', again located in the Lal Chowk area of Anantnag.

The team found an image of this shop on the Justdial website in which the store's hoarding can be seen clearly.

Here's a comparison between the viral image and the one our team found on the Justdial website.

Further, the fact-checker found that India Today has spoken to an eyewitness from the incident.

"I was present in my shop when this whole thing happened. I remember that day; some people were pelting stones towards the police forces. While this was going on, a police officer sought shelter in my shop and I tried to help him. When the stone pelters noticed this, they came running towards my shop to get hold of him." Khalid Sathoo, the owner of the 'Western Hosiery' shop told India Today.

Speaking of the Jaipur incident which happened recently, some people attacked police with bricks. Many cops were injured in the incident.
