Hyderabad: A video of a police e-rickshaw overturning on a waterlogged road is viral on social media.

Users claim that it is from Uttar Pradesh to poke fun at the state's development under CM Yogi Aditynath.

"आज तो @myogiadityanath @myogioffice जी के "विकास" में उत्तर प्रदेश पुलिस डूब ही जाती। बाल बाल बचे," reads the caption.

"Today, Uttar Pradesh Police would have definitely drowned in Yogi Adityanath's "development", what a narrow escape (sic)," reads the English translation of the caption.

Fact Check:

The claim is false.

NewsMeter used the InVid tool, and divided the video into multiple keyframes, and ran reverse image searches. Our fact check team found a report by Dainik Bhaskar published on October 1, 2021. According to the report, the incident occurred in Bandikui, Dausa in Rajasthan and the five policemen were on their way to Kolana Jail traveling in an e-rickshaw, which overturned as the driver could not see the pothole on a waterlogged street.

"Navbharat Times" also reported it. The incident occurred near Agra Gate in Dausa.

Further, the team found a tweet on the UP Police Fact Check handle. They debunked the claim made by the West Uttar Pradesh Congress Sevadal.

Evidently, an incident from Dausa, Rajasthan has been passed off as that of Uttar Pradesh.
