Hyderabad: A video of Taliban fighters feasting in a palace, is viral on social media. Users claim that it was shot in Afghanistan's Presidential Palace on August 15, 2021.

The claim is False.

NewsMeter performed a Google Reverse Image Search which directed us to a video published by Republic World on August 12, 2021. According to the report, the Taliban fighters were feasting after capturing the Palace of the Governor in Zaranj.

We found the same video uploaded by `Reportwire'. They gave credit to Bilal Sarwary, a journalist based in Afghanistan. We found the same video on the Twitter handle of Sarwary posted on August 11, 2021.

We also found a tweet that stated Taliban fighters enjoying fruits, biscuits, and comfort of sofas in Nimroz province shortly after taking over the city of Zaranj.

The claim is False. This video has not been shot inside the Presidential Palace. It has been shot at Governor's Palace in Zaranj province.
