Hyderabad: A video is viral on social media with the claim that it shows a group of Muslims pelting stones at a train after its horn interrupted their prayers.

Fact Check:

A reverse search led us to a longer version of the video uploaded on YouTube by Sathiyam News, a Tamil news channel. The title said a clash broke out between college students in Perambur, Tamil Nadu.

News 18 Tamil Nadu and other media outlets had also reported the incident. However, there was no mention of namaz in the video's description or title.

According to a report by India Today from 11 April, a fight broke out between two rival student groups from Pachaiyappa's College and Presidency College at the Perambur railway station. "Students from Presidency College allegedly behaved in an unruly manner and forced passengers to complain and get the train stopped. Then they got down and began to pelt stones at the train traveling towards Arakkonam, targeting Pachaiyappa's College students, which led the train driver to stop the train. Then, a fight broke out between both groups." Here, too, there was no mention of namaz.

It is clear that the video does not show Muslims pelting stones at a train after its horn interrupted their prayers.
