Fact Check

The claim is False.

NewsMeter began its investigation by searching for any such information shared by the Osmania University or published by the mainstream media. However, we did not find any such information.

On further investigation, we also visited the official website of Osmania University. We did not find any such press note on their website. The most recent press note was about the 196th Mahatma Jyothirao Phule celebrations that had taken place on April 11, 2022.

We then searched for press notes related to the examinations. We compared the viral press note and the original one by the examination cell of Osmania University. We found that the signature of Prof. B. Srinagesh, controller of examination was different from that on the original press note.

Apart from this, we also contacted the officials of the Osmania University to confirm the viral press note. Public Relations Officer of Osmania University had stated that the circular is fake. He had further requested students and parents to be cautious and follow only the official circulars uploaded on the OU website. Students and parents are advised to check the OU website or OU examination branch webpage for all the matters regarding examination schedules.

Hence, it is therefore evident that the claim is False. No such circular has been shared by the OU examination branch.
