Fact Check: Viral clip is from `Mudda 370', not 'The Kashmir Files'

Users are claiming that for the first time, the clip of 'The Kashmir Files' has been uploaded on Facebook.

Hyderabad: A video clip of 11. 47 minutes is widely shared on social media.


Users are claiming that for the first time, the clip of 'The Kashmir Files' has been uploaded on Facebook.

Fact Check

The claim is False.

NewsMeter began its investigation by performing a Google reverse image search. The search led us to a video with similar visuals uploaded on a YouTube channel. Uploaded on March 21, 2022, the title of the video is 'The Kashmir Movie'. However, the clip has been taken from the movie 'Mudda 370'. Users are falsely claiming that it is from The Kashmir Files. The viral clip can be seen from 0:51 seconds.


We also found the video of Mudda 370 on a Facebook page. It is written that the movie is directed by Rakesh Sawant.




According to a report published in the 'Patrika' on December 7, 2019, 'Mudda 370 J&K' stars Hiten Tejwani, Zarina Wahab, and Anjali Pandey in the lead roles. The film shows the pain of Kashmiri Pandits. The film is directed by Rakesh Sawant. The film is about the love story of a Kashmiri Pandit boy and a Kashmiri Muslim girl. It shows the struggles they faced because of Article 370.

Hence, it is evident that the claim is False. The viral video clip is not from 'The Kashmir Files' but 'Mudda 370'.
