HYDERABAD: A screenshot of a video showing President Ram Nath Kovind walking along with Union Home Minister Amit Shah during the inauguration ceremony of Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad has gone viral on social media.

Netizens share the video with the claim that the Shah disrespected the President by walking on the red carpet, while Kovind walked on bare ground.

A few users shared the image with the caption that upon translation reads: "President of the country has left the red carpet for Modi and Amit Shah, and is walking on the floor. The country is blessed to have such a slave president".

Lawyer and activist Deepika Rajawat also shared the photo on Twitter. (Archive)

As the screenshot had the logo of NDTV, we searched online with relevant keywords and found a bulletin uploaded by NDTV on February 24 on the issue. The viral screenshot can be viewed at 03:12 minutes.

DD National showed live footage of the event and at 04:46 minutes the President walks towards the red carpet. At 04:49 and 04:50 minutes, Kovind walks on the red carpet along with Amit Shah as they make a turn.

The same visuals can also be seen on INDIA TODAY at 05:04 min.

Evidently, the viral image was passed with the misleading claim that Shah disrespected Kovind by walking on the red carpet alone during the inauguration ceremony of Narendra Modi Stadium.
